The North Face XPLR Pass Loyalty Program Teardown
The North Face, known for premium outdoor gear and genuine fashion relevance, retired its VIPeaks program in favor of a new one: XPLR Pass.
How it works
The mechanics are simple: every dollar spent earns a point, and every 100 points equals ten dollars. Members also get birthday recognition, gifts on purchases, discounted AllTrails Pro access, exclusive deals, and early access to test new product — all aimed squarely at adventure enthusiasts across the U.S. and Canada.
Earning points
Purchases earn points continuously, but bonus activities are organized into three seasonal windows (February–May, June–September, October–January), each capped at $50 in bonus value, with a $150 annual ceiling.
U.S.-exclusive activities include checking into a National Park (5 points, twice a month) or a North Face store (5 points, monthly), plus a one-time 10-point bonus for downloading the app.
North America-wide activities reward sustainable behavior — reusable bag use (10 points, twice a year) and buying from the Renewed collection (25 points) — along with referrals, worth 25 points each, capped at 100 points annually from non-purchase activity.
Benefits and redemption
New members get 10% off their first online purchase, plus access to member-exclusive deals, limited editions, and product testing with a 60-day return window. Rewards redeem automatically at 100 points, with up to two redeemable per transaction and an 11-month expiration window. Points can’t be transferred, converted to cash, or stacked with other promotions.
